We spent all winter and spring picking up aluminum cans to go toward a trip to Holiday World. We made a thermometer to gauge our progress and aimed for the goal of around 500# of cans. Well, as the roadside grass grew, our can progress slowed. Since summer was still in full swing, we decided that the time had arrived. We gathered our cache and headed to the recycling facility. In all, we had collected 168# of aluminum. In addition, we took what little scrap iron, insulated wire, scrap aluminum, and brass we had and felt good that we had worked together to achieve our goal. At least half of the cost of our tickets was offset by our endeavors.
The day of our trip dawned sunny and pleasant. We had a great time riding the rides, seeing the sites, and enjoying the wave pool to our hearts' content. Satisfaction was earned from a job well done.
