Since some of the school studies had recently been about Indian burial mounds and Serpent Mound in particular, we decided that we could not pass up the opportunity to stop by this landmark on our way home from Ohio.
We climbed the observation tower in the brisk early January weather.
It made a nice short diversion on our way home and put a dose of reality to dry textbook studies!
