A Walk in the Woods on an Autumn Day

With the wind rustling the dry leaves and the sun shining bright, we set off this fine day on a mushroom hunt.

We found many specimens just waiting for us to get a shot of them and thus bagged several good photos to share. Of course, don't eat any of these beauties!

What a nice little toad stool.

And here's the toad to go along with it!

We had plenty of fun helping this puffball mushroom spread its spores! By jumping on top of it, it sends clouds of dust and spores into the air.

The Fall scenery was gorgeous as well.

Providence church

One sunny afternoon recently, we were blessed to be able to share with Providence church at their Singspiration. The October 25th morning dawned beautifully sunny, and the disposition of the congregation there followed suit! It was good to see some familiar faces there. Bless you and keep on keeping on!

Dahlgren Baptist church

On Friday, October 23, 2009 our family was asked to praise the Lord in song at the Dahlgren Baptist Church for a night of their revival. We were all blessed to hear a wonderful sermon by David Schlag as was everyone likewise.

The Eastern Fence Lizard

Sceloporus undulatus
Found often on Providence Prairie:
The Eastern Fence Lizard is active during the day. He loves trees and is predominantly found either on a tree trunk or fence post. Follow him and he will take you in circles around the trunk until you are dizzy! We find them frequently running along the top rail of our zigzag fence. Grab him by the tail and he will leave it in your hands to make his hasty escape! They are amazing insect eaters with a voracious appetite for spiders, centipedes, snails and especially beetles.

It's Fall

"The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

Lancaster church of Christ

We were pleased to be able to share in song with the Lancaster church of Christ.

After leading the morning worship music, we were fed spiritually with a sermon from Ryan.

The noon fellowship meal followed and after our appetites were satisfied with all of the delicacies, we presented the Gospel in song. Following this, we were blessed to hear a message from Ryan's dad, Bill. Preach the Word!

Public Pioneer Prairie-fest 2009

With bucketsful of rain in the days prior to our first Prairie-fest this year, the attendance was low in number but high in fellowship!
With a light sprinkling of rain, the evening festivities proceeded and the weather turned beautiful.

Ahh! True pioneers!

What a wonderful evening!

Happy Birthday!

And what might a Civil War hat and a resonator guitar, and Amanda have in common? Ryan Cox! Ryan is re-enacting a Civil War colonel in "Christmas with the Lincoln's" this year and Amanda is working on creating his period costume for the event. She wanted to have the entire costume completed by his birthday, but alas, time didn't permit. The hat was a purchased acquisition to complete the attire. The Dobro (or resonator guitar) helps Ryan to make beautiful music together with the rest of the McDaniel Family. He is rapidly gaining skill on his new instrument.
And Amanda? Well have you watched Peter Pan recently?

Happy birthday Ryan! 2 decade candles and a 7!

Gunion

It was a filled Sunday with travelling and singing and fellowship and worship and breaking of bread and prayer! Our morning brought us to Gunion Christian church to worship with fellow believers. There we sang and were invited to return that afternoon for a "singspiration." Bill and the congregation there were gracious to our family.

Bluepoint

After our morning worship time, we crossed a few country roads and arrived at Bluepoint Baptist church for their homecoming celebration.

There, we shared with the hospitable congregation our message in song.

May God bless you and keep you!
