Casting our Lines

A while back, we stocked our ponds with teeny fish.

That seems like such a long time ago now.

Two years later, we have fish big enough to eat!!!

God provides!

Amerinet's Nevada Conference Trip

We are on our way
A short stop to see Haylee at Ozark Christian College in Joplin.  Wonderful visit.
Windmills generating electricity.

So much to see and do along the way.

So many states to cross.

What a wondrous diverse landscape with which God has gifted the US! (and yes, that water tower actually leans)
Almost there!

Purple Mountains Majesty!  From sea to shining sea!

Wide open spaces. . .

Diverse flora and fauna
Getting closer. . .
The desert Southwest.

Oops!  Did we take a wrong turn in Albuquerque?!

Whew it's still hot in September!

Pass over the river. . .

At last, we're almost there. . .

ahhhhh. . . . home for a few days.

Mark attended the conference in the Rio, representing Hamilton Memorial Hospital.

We enjoyed the Mac King Comedy Magic Show, compliments of Amerinet.

Mac even signed his book afterward for the McDaniel children.  (of course we're thinking of home :)  )

Could it be Mater along historic Route 66?

Reflecting in the side rearview mirror on our return home.

A very memorable trip was enjoyed.

The Rest Of August

The rest of August brought a variety of events for the family here at Providence Prairie.

We finished up Volume 14, issue #4 of the Prairie Proclamation~ Dog Days of Summer.  Can you believe that we have been publishing this for fourteen years now?!!  If you would like to join our family of readers, you can do that here.

We celebrated a very late birthday for Amanda.  We even served her favorite- Pumpkin Torte Cake.

She is enjoying her new fiddle!

Dale Days Community Festival has come to be an annual event in our family singing adventures, and so we trekked to the "big" town of Dale to participate in the festivities.

This year, though was somewhat different as we have two additions to the family over last year.  With that in mind, we had a whole different kind of fun!  Everyone (all nine of us) played an instrument for a presentation of large dimensions!

During the month, Mark and Haylee passed by Providence Prairie on their way to Ozark Christian College.  We had a really nice abbreviated visit with them.  It is always good to visit.  We even squeezed in a session of Frisbee Golf.  Are you surprised?
And so the summer is rapidly coming to a close.  The cooler temperatures are a blessing after the very hot and dry season we have had.  We look forward to what God has in store for us in the coming months.

Patoka Lake Annual Reunion at Pike Lake

August saw the Patoka Lake Annual Resor Family Reunion at Pike Lake in Ohio again this year.  The long, hot drive there was greeted by a twenty degree drop in the temperature!  What a blessing!  A storm had passed through and ridded the air of its intense heat and high humidity!
Beautiful butterflies gathered for all to observe.

Homemade ice cream is always a part!  Mmmm!

Trey and Clair shared rides on their new tandem bicycle.

There was lots of catching up to do with extended family members.

We enjoyed joining in a variety of games each evening.

Everyone got involved!

The trash can meal was such fun to prepare and eat!  Delicious!

And most importantly, after our Sunday morning worship gathering, Zachary decided to give his life fully to the Lord and was baptized, washing away his sins!
