Ribbon and Lady's Arrival

How exciting it was to pick up the latest addition to Providence Prairie- two horses! Lady and Ribbon are both quarter horse mares that stand at 14 and 16 hands tall, respectively.
They loaded quite easily into our small horse trailer and made it safely home. When we arrived home, we kept them separate to visit with and warm up to us before introducing them to the rest of the herd. They seem happy. . . and we are looking forward to hitting the trails of Providence Prairie! Spanky Hank now is blessed with two riding companions, as well as those who will be on their backs!

Noble First Christian church Family Day

We were privileged to sing for the wonderful congregation of Noble First Christian church on Sunday, June 14. The sister church was full of life with joyful looks on the members' faces as we praised the Lord in song during their Family Day Celebration. Thank you all for blessing us!

CHEHC Carnival at Providence Prairie

The Christian Home Educators of Hamilton County met for a fun evening of Carnival games, fun, food, and fellowship at Providence Prairie. The children were allotted a certain number of tickets to use to play their choice of the many carnival games set up around the barnyard, while the young adults manned the games. It was a fun evening followed by a wiener roast and marshmallows!!

Pumpkin Planting!

Once again, we planted a few acres of pumpkins! We had last year's experience of the planting method under our belts, making things move a little quicker this year. We use PVC pipe that is cut at a slant on the end for planting, as well as a sling to carry the pumpkin seeds in. Sticking the end of the PVC pipe in the ground, you drop a seed down through the top, pull your pipe out of the ground, and step your seed down. It's as easy as that! It is a lot less back breaking than bending over to plant that many acres of pumpkins!! We hope for a crop as good as last year's!

Providence Prairie's Summer Recital

The day was greatly anticipated by all of our music students, their families, and us! It finally arrived~ June 8, and we gathered at McLeansboro Christian church (who graciously lent their facility) for an afternoon of music. Several of our students were away on vacation, but the turnout was great and the crowd was large. All of our students had dedicated their time to practicing their pieces of music and they each did an exceptional job! What a great day!

DCC Dolan Lake Campout

We had an exciting weekend camping at Dolan Lake in Hamilton County, with brothers and sisters from Dale Christian church. The weather was cool and the sky was beautiful the whole weekend, making it perfect for camping and our campsites were surrounded by many majestic and tall pine trees that kept us in the shade during the day time. We had several good ole' camp meals cooked over an open fire, played games, and even went on a few bike rides. What fun!
