Babies!!!
We have had a very busy week! Baby animals have arrived almost non stop- a new one every day! The goats and sheep who have given birth are all excellent mothers. We still have many more sheep and goats who are almost ready to give birth. Everyday we wait in anticipation! Babies are so much fun!

The Smallest Chicken Egg
One of our young pullets laid quite the small pullet egg. We have had small eggs before, but this one was an exception- it was the tiniest chicken egg ever!

Spring is almost here!
The first minute signs of spring are beginning to arrive on Providence Prairie and we are getting excited! The flowers are exploding into bloom, baby animals will begin arriving any day, pullets are starting to lay their tiny eggs, and the weather is quite warm! Our temperatures on Providence Prairie reached 80 degrees over the weekend making it the most pleasurable weather for outside work. The sheep jugs (lambing pens) within the sheep barn were assembled on Saturday, as the Jacob ewe's bellies are getting big! The Nubian goats should kid any day as well. Baby animals are such a joy!It is an exciting time when the farm comes alive with new life, but it also brings with it a lot of work! Spring is almost here are we are keeping busy, busy, busy!
