Tim's Visit

We had a great time catching up on what's been happening with Tim. It was great to get to visit with him again as he came for a visit to Providence Prairie. We enjoyed playing with Mr. Bo-Jangles, as he flew about the house, landing atop people's heads!

We then headed outside to shear Jimmy. It was very late in the season for shearing, but the job still needed to be done, and Jimmy is a handful to tackle! Tim, Trey, and Mark all chased him through the field in the attempt to catch him. My, that is a chore in itself! Finally, Tim caught Jimmy and they drug him by his horns to the milking parlor to prepare him for shearing. It took Tim and Mark to hold him down while Trey sheared him. He looked much cooler afterward, when we let him go in his field. Jimmy's fleece has a nice long nap and is one of the nicest of our flock.

Since we worked up such a sweat, we all decided it was time to go for a swim. The zip-line was put to good use as it was ridden over and over! It was fun watching everyone hang on until they reached the middle of the pond, then letting go to fall into the water!

Later that day, we went to check on and visit the animals. The donkeys are always so friendly! The animals were all given their much loved attention, so we headed back down to the house. Supper was great- especially the home-made ice cream for dessert! Mmmm! Afterward, it was time to say our goodbyes. It was great getting to spend the day with a good friend!

Ohio Trip

What a great time we had in Ohio visiting with Mark's side of the family! On our trip there, we stopped at several rest areas to stretch our legs. Six hours doesn't seem like very long to travel anymore! Our first stop was Dennis and Adele's home. They were very hospitable to us and opened their house to us graciously. The next morning, we worshiped with them at White Oak Christian church. We said our goodbyes, and began traveling to Mark's mom's house. Once in Xenia, we settled into Doris' house, and spent the evening visiting with family. Some of us were able to traverse down to Hillsboro to attend Family Camp, and were blessed by good messages, singing, visiting with old friends, and more family. The next day, we stopped in for a visit with Mamaw Skaggs. We love hearing the stories she tells about her childhood! After dinner, (lunch for you city folk) we were able to tour the Wright-Patterson Air Force Museum! What a great history lesson! We saw some of the first airplanes, their advancements, and modern day fighter jets. What changes that took place over the years! It was quite a neat place to visit!We had to leave to get back to Providence Prairie, but all in all, we had a wonderful time in Ohio!

They who dwell in the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs;

You make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy.
